It is simple, just add a new spot, select the type of species and start typing the name of the species to get a list of name suggestions. By just a touch, you can select a species from the list or read more about the species in the information panel linked on the right side of the input dialog. The App covers species from around the world, but if you are unsure about the classification it is no problem! Just tick the box or select "unsure" in the list.
Add a natural habitat to the species observation
After selecting a species from the list you can optionally also add a habitat to your new spot. This connects the animal, plant of fungi with the habitat you have discovered it in. You can further add optional attributes to your observation if you want to, like its status, if it is adult or juvenile or for example if it is an invasive species.
All observations will be added to the anonymized data-set, which is available for free download in the map on the NatureSpots website. Everybody can use this data to do their own analysis or work with it in science, education or biodiversity conservation.
