Mimetidae: Animal in habitat Garden in the NatureSpots App "Ero ist die einzige Gattung, die in Mitteleuropa vorkommt und vier Arten wurden beschrieben. Diese attraktive Spinne ist sehr klein; die Größe variiert zwischen 2,5 und 4 mm. Die Beine haben klare Pigmentringe und die letzten beiden Segmente der vorderen Vorderbeine sind mit einer abwechselnd langen und kurzen Reihe von Stacheln bewaffnet. Wie der Name schon sagt, ist es ein Spinnenkiller. Sie sucht in Netzen nach Spinnen und zieht mit ihren Pfoten an den Fäden, um die Aufmerksamkeit ihrer Beute auf sich zu ziehen. Wenn die Beute in der Nähe ist, greift sie schnell an und beißt das Bein der Spinne, wobei sie ein lähmendes Gift injiziert. Sie saugt ihre Beute durch das Loch im Bein. Sie legt ihre Eier in einen Kokon, der von starken Seidenfäden umgeben ist, und lässt sie dann zurück. Jedes Weibchen bildet 2-3 Kokons.
