"Pratincoles breed in southern Europe. Unlike most waders, they forage in flight. Insects are caught in flight, usually in groups, with a flight reminiscent of that of terns. Pratincoles are very similar to Steppe Pratincoles and Oriental Pratincoles; identifying Pratincoles often requires thorough observation. In the Netherlands, Pratincoles are a fairly rare vagrant, seen slightly less often than Steppe Pratincoles, which is probably related to the long migration route of the latter species. Most Pratincoles in the Netherlands are seen in summer and autumn." says Danny VG in habitat Marine habitat on 04.04.2024. Collared Pratincole (Glareola pratincola) is a species of bird.
